Foundation Training

Foundation training is a safe and effective exercise program that can compliment and improve any fitness routine.  It utilizes specific movements that strengthen the posterior chain of muscles, which are often weak from our modern lifestyles.  These simple, but transformational poses were designed to get you out of back pain, to correct postural  imbalances, and to make you truly stronger.

 

 Foundation Training was developed by chiropractor and movement expert, Dr. Eric Goodman, to heal his chronic back pain and avoid surgery for multiple disc herniations. This work is not a temporary remedy, but a systematic solution that empowers you to create and sustain long-term health. Through a series of postures, poses, and movements, Foundation Training teaches your body to take the burden of supporting itself out of your joints and put it where it belongs, in your muscles. Your body adapts quickly to these natural movement patterns, so much so that you begin reinforcing them throughout your day without having to think about it. When your body starts to get more of what it needs, your brain responds. Bonus side effects include increased self-worth and general happiness.  These movements have helped me to move better, to be a more effective teacher, and to be a happier person, with more energy.

 

Foundation Training sessions include:

Postural Scan and Full Body Assessment

You and I will raise your body awareness, decreasing pain, and increasing range of motion, as we explore how your body is working.

Exercise and Movement Prescription

Based on our discoveries from session one, we will work through movements that are optimal for your body, identify pain patterns & begin to unravel them, strengthen support muscles for optimal/pain free posture, all while increasing your energy.

On-Going Training

I’ll stay with you on your journey towards wellness with on-going movement practice & mastery, as long as you need my support. We will continue to increase your strength and vitality, as I empower you to take these movements and use them in your daily life.
